Awards > The National Book Critics Circle 2004-2006

The National Book Critics Circle Awards consists of nearly 700 book reviewers. Since its founding in 1974, the NBCC's centerpiece has been its annual awards for the best books in several categories, which currently include fiction, general nonfiction, biography, memoir/autobiography, poetry, and criticism. In addition, each year the NBCC awards the Ivan Sandrof Award for Contribution to American Arts and Letters and salutes one member of the Circle with the Nona Balakian Citation for Excellence in Reviewing.
