Millennium Books begin shortly before Tears of the Prophets, though they are effectively sequels of sorts to that episode. Their framing story is set in Siskoís time with the Prophets.

Further in the Past
Catalyst of Sorrows (Star Trek: The Lost Era, 2360) by Margaret Wander Bonanno ~ features Benjamin Sisko with his first command. It also features Jennifer Sisko, Curzon Dax, Cretak and Koval, and an array of characters from other Trek series.
Serpents Among the Ruins (Star Trek: The Lost Era, 2311) by David R. George III ~ Elias Vaughn's first field operation, and probably the earliest story of the 24th Century.
The Art of the Impossible (Star Trek: The Lost Era, 2328-2346) by Keith R.A. DeCandido ~ based on the three or four sentences by Dr. Bashir and Garak about the Betreka Nebula ĎIncidentí. It features Curzon Dax, Elias Vaughn and many Cardassian and Klingon notables.
